Roadtrip 2011 Epiphanies

I went on a roadtrip from Hoover, Alabama to San Diego, California and back.  I visited friends, surfed for the first time, drove a Lamborghini, walked Vegas' Fremont Street, saw Hoover dam and a bunch of other beautiful, wonderful things. It was good. Here are the epiphanies I had over the 18 days.

Visit Friends. They Like You.

Hugs are Good.

Everyone is Lonely. Love Them.

Do Things You Are Scared Of, It Will Be Good.

Experiences and People, Not Things.

Surrender Your Control. Just Go.

You Are Not A Horrible Person.

The World is Way Too Big for Your Petty Shit to Really Be All that Big of a Deal. Get Over the Little Stuff.

Experiences are Useless Unless You Have Someone to Share Them With.

On the trip, I obsessively listened to Bon Iver's version of Come Talk to Me a hundred times, and the lyrics spoke to me: "Whatever Fear Invents, I Swear It Makes No Sense."

  1. Awesome epiphanies, jimi. And great song to have on replay. :D

  2. Grats on the trip, sounds like a great time. How did you like Hoover Dam, and no clue you are down 65 from me. Small world. (HSV here)

  3. Glad you had a lovely trip and have arrived home safely.

    Now I want hugs!
