ROADTRIP 2011: Day 11 – San Diego & Other

I spent the day at Mission Beach. It was an overcast, rainy day in San Diego so there was hardly anyone at the beach, or the nearby Coney Island like Belmont Park.  San Diego reminds me of the cluster planned cities in Irvine, but just a little older with worn roads, and older homes. It's quaint. I can see why people would love it here. There were alot of trailers/campers around. I imagine they must be the homes of transient surf bums.

I've seen most of the people I can, so I start heading back east tomorrow.  My route back to Alabama is undetermined, although I have a vague notion of a few stops I'd like to make before I bum rush for home.

.....

Steve Jobs died today. It's always odd when a prominent figure in the media dies. Even if we didn't know them, the loss is almost as palpable as a death in the our immediate social circle.

This is a commencement address he gave in 2005 regarding how to live before you die.
